The Friends of Chase Bridge are parents of children at the school who give up some of their time and effort to run events and activities that benefit our children, build a school community, and raise money for the school.

Ian Trueman - FoCB Chair

The Chair provides leadership for the committee ensuring all FoCB business is properly debated and agreements reached.  The Chair also works closely with the Secretary and Treasurer to ensure that the association is run effectively. The Chair works closely with the school. 

  • Ensure the Committee fulfills its role in respect of governance of the association
  • Hold Termly FOCB Meeting 
  • Sign the approved minutes of the last meeting
  • Set the agenda for meetings in liaison with the Secretary
  • Brings matters for voting to the attention of the Committee 
  • Ensure contributions for the school newsletter are submitted
  • Ensure the Friends' section of the website is current 
  • Liaises with the Events Manager to ensure events are covered
  • Apply for licenses for events through Richmond Council
  • Write the annual report, liaising with the Secretary
  • Welcome and involve new members
  • Be approachable, diplomatic and a friendly advocate of FoCB
  • React in a timely manner to all FoCB matters and prepare any required papers by agreed deadlines
  • Meet with the school business manager half-termly to ensure school links

Natalie Brown and Reuben Zeeman- Events Managers

Supporting individual event teams - the Events Manger will work with the FoCB Committee, School and wider community to assist in the successful delivery of both fund raising events and events which will enrich the experience of the children.

  • Management of individual event teams
  • Review, update and amend event manuals as required
  • Liaise with Rep Coordinator to ensure event teams are in place and have all the relevant information
  • Sourcing and booking outsourced suppliers where required
  • Work with the Treasurer on budget requirements and spend
  • Work with FoCB Committee to formulate a calendar of non fund raising events
  • Develop and manage the events calendar with input and contributions from FoCB Committee
  • Arrange licenses for events
  • Be approachable, diplomatic and a friendly advocate of FoCB
  • React in a timely manner to all FoCB matters and prepare any required papers by agreed deadlines

Ali Hodder-Williams - Treasurer

The Treasurer manages the bank account and produces all financial papers. They retain the cheque book and arrange for all payments to be authorised as per the FoCB policy.

Idea of time commitment: Around two hours a month for basic banking and record keeping. For larger events (usually one or two a year) the Treasurer will need to manage the cash float and to take responsibility for the recording and banking of the event takings.

  • Ensure Friends' financial policies of approving expenditure are adhered to
  • Maintain accurate financial records
  • Present a financial update at each meeting
  • Prepare and sign cheques
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Provide and account for cash floats at events
  • Liaise with the bank
  • Pay agreed expenses
  • Prepare annual accounts
  • Submit an annual return and trustees' report to the Charity Commission
  • Count and bank monies

Carmelle Jaitly - Class Rep Co-ordinator

The Class Reps Co-ordinator must be approachable, a good listener, organised, assertive, fair and a good communicator who is willing to put forward the views of the people they represent.

  • Welcome new families to the community
  • Recruit individual class representatives
  • Rally, drive, empower and enthuse class reps
  • Coordinate activities with class reps in the same year group
  • Liaise with teachers, communicate and identify needs
  • Organise and recruit help for school events
  • Assist the class reps when help is needed
  • Arrange class reps' coffee mornings
  • Maintain class rep contact details
  • Support class reps in arranging teachers' gifts as required
  • Be approachable, diplomatic and a friendly advocate of FoCB
  • React in a timely manner to all FoCB matters and prepare any required papers by agreed deadlines

Denny Thomas - Marketing & PR Manager

A good understanding of marketing and PR activities will allow the Marketing /PR Manager to support all Friends' activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Publicity of Friends' activities
  • Managing local press contacts
  • Updating the business list for adverts and raffle donations
  • Updating notice boards
  • Supplier contact
  • Manage the school book bag communication
  • Newsletter
  • Update Friends' webpage
  • Be approachable, diplomatic and a friendly advocate of the Friends
  • React in a timely manner to all FoCB matters and prepare any required papers by agreed deadlines
